Las Vegas JamBand Society Meeting Minutes
OFFICERS MEETING HELD 09/21/02
Meeting held at Greg Serensits Home

Members Present: Ericka Ziegelmaier, Meggan Frazee, Greg Serensits, Linda Jalio, Rudy Jalio, George Lyons, Erik Vraa

The following topics were discussed:

The Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey/ Uberschall show was a great success!! The Blue Note was happy, the bands were happy and the crowd was definitely happy. Great job to all who made it happen. Things will definitely run smoother at the door for the next event.

The Blue Note is working on booking The Motet for a String Cheese Incident after party show. The Motet will most likely play on Friday, November 1st after the S.C.I. show.

David Nelson Band will be playing Saturday, November 9th at 11:00 pm. The ticket price will be $20.00 w/ a $3.00 coupon on the flyer. This is a LVJBS event.

Topaz confirmed that they wanted to play in Las Vegas on a Tuesday night. Because we know there will be a small turnout on a Tuesday night, we are not going to do the show.

We are in a rock and a hard place with the Particle/foam party. We found a venue, The Castle, but they cannot sell alcohol. We thought about the possibility of making it a private party, locking the doors and rollin’ in the kegs. It will cost $700.00 to use the room, $1000.00 to have the foam, and $4000-5000.00 to pay the band. That equals a minimum of 150 people at a $30.00 ticket to break even. The ticket would include beer. The problem is the date. At the end of December, many people will be out of town. It was determined at least 3-5 of the officers alone will be out of town. This show may not happen. We have the option.

The Project Object show will be Sunday, October 13, 2002 at 8:00 pm. It will be at the Blue Note in conjunction with the Las Vegas JamBand Society. The first set will be from 8-9pm. The second set will begin after a half hour set break, and continue until 10:30 pm.

A new time setup was created for the Area 51 SoundTest, due to the fact that we are no longer able to perform late night shows outdoors. The following is an example of what could be the possible setup:

Friday: Particle 7:00 pm – 12:00 am outdoor stage
Bounders 1:00 am - ?? Dirty Moe’s

Saturday: Robert Randolfe 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm outdoor stage
Ween 3:00 pm – 6:00pm outdoor stage
moe. 7:00 – 12:00 am outdoor stage
Uberschall 1:00 am - ?? Dirty Moe’s

Sunday: moe.
Leftover Salmon or Yonder Mountain outdoor stage

**time slots are for example…not set in stone**

These minutes have been respectfully submitted by:

Meggan Frazee

Thanks for reading!!
