By December, 2002, there was $,187.00 in the
bank. An annual goal for 2003 was set by the

members. By December, 2002, there was approximately
90 dues paying members. An annual goal was set
by the President to have 150 dues paying members
by the end of the fiscal year.
JamBand
Society of America (JBSA) update: The San Diego
Phreeks are modeling their society after the
LVJBS. It is possible that they could become
a chapter in the near future. A possibility
in the future could also include developing
a free advertising relationship with other cities.
We place their ads on our website/flyers for
free and they offer the same service for us
(for example).
Possible
2003 goals:
-LVJBS presents a New Year’s Eve show
-Hosting 2 festivals/year (perhaps a harvest
festival)
-Celebrity golf tournament as a fundraiser
Vice-Presidents’
Report: Louie Kimbrough
As the new VP, members will see Louie focus
a great deal of his efforts into assisting Ericka
with marketing procedures. Much of that effort
will focus on The Area 51 SoundTest 3-D.
Treasurers’
Report: Dan Rugotzke
Dan reported on the current amount of money
in the bank.
The revenue from the Pickadillo’s show
was reported.
A bank account will be opened within the next
couple weeks.
Secretarys’ Report: Meggan Frazee
A call for archives was made. Any members that
have ticket stubs, flyers, posters, etc., that
they are willing to part with and donate to
the LVJBS archive collection should submit these
items to Meggan.
Eventually, an archive committee will most likely
be formed, but for now the secretary will collect
archives as stated in the by-laws.
Mayors’
Report: Erik Vraa
It was reported that homeland jamband security
is safe and sound.
The
following Committee Reports were given:
Membership
Committee Report: Meggan Frazee
The 2003 annual membership special was explained
to members. Dues will be collected at the end
of the meeting.

to collect the card.

contact Jay Brice at jaybrice2002
<mailto:jaybrice2002> if you
are interested.
The by-laws have been drafted overall with five
levels of changes. The changes are as follows:
Grammatical/Typographical changes

IRS standards)
Restriction on use/Distribution
of corporate funds
Restrictions on sources of funding
(fundraising chairpersons’ requirements)

be formed on an as needed basis, especially
for the festival.

Chairperson (we love you Gerard!). He will be
organizing the sponsorship packets for the Area
51 SoundTest 3-D.
Production
Committee I: George Lyons
Revenue from the Global Funk Council show was
collected from the Blue Note and turned into
the Treasurer.
Robert Walter’s 20th Congress is at the
Blue Note on January 23, 2003 at 9:00pm.
Tickets will be $15.00. A $2.00 coupon is available
on the flyer.
Dark Star Orchestra is booked at the Blue Note
for February 22, 2003.
Tickets are on sale through DSO website.
We will sell additional tickets at the Blue
Note.
LVJBS will also be approaching UNLV Ticketing
to see if they can be established as a ticket
vendor for this and future LVJBS events.
February 1, 2003 OM Trio is playing at the Blue
Note in conjunction with LVJBS.
LVJBS will not be involved in any marketing
for the Victor Wooten show at the Blue Note
on January 24, 2003.
Late night/After Phish Particle shows are scheduled
at the Blue Note February 15 and 16, 2003. There
are 500 pre-sales for the first night and 250
for the second night as of now. LVJBS will be
marketing the show hard. George will have tickets
available to members for this show.
Production
Committee II: Rudy Jalio
We need to sell 125 tickets to the Robert Walter’s
show to break even. 150 will make us happy J
We need to sell at least 300 tickets to break
even for the DSO show. The show has already
been listed in the paper and will be appearing
in the Blue Note ads.
It is suggested that LVJBS does not do a March
show due to the great demand that will be put
on officer’s and committee members prior
to the festival.
Officers’ meetings will be held weekly
beginning in February due to the festival approaching.
The
following special orders and announcements were
made:
Dave
Stark would like LVJBS to look into booking
Keller Williams for the SoundTest.
Rob Schuder needs an Ad-Hoc committee created
for a festival demo tape. Mike and Ingrid Spielman
have offered to help, but any other interested
parties should contact Schuder. He could use
some soundboard audio and still shots of past
festival performers.
Mayor Vraa announced that Mr. Cory Ness is back
in town. He is a local reporter that could possibly
feature LVJBS in an article.
The following details were discussed
about the 2003 Area 51 SoundTest 3-D/Rudy Jalio:
moe.
is absolutely confirmed for the festival. They
will be the headliner and will play two full
sets on Saturday evening and two full sets Sunday
afternoon.
Jimmy
(yippee!) has covered the cost of a circus tent
for the event. It will withstand 90 mph winds,
which will provide us with insurance from the
weather. The tent sides can be rolled up to
provide outside access. Late night performances
will be in the tent.
Particle will perform for the late night show
on Saturday night/Sunday morning. It will be
a foam party. It will be an 18 and over show
due to curfew times. There will be no in/out
entrance for this show.
Mickey Heart has been approached to perform
at the festival. He has expressed interest.
If he agrees to be a part of the festival, he
will perform w/ Uberschall and Tim Alexander,
formerly of Primus. He will also conduct a separate
drum workshop in the tent for about 400 people.
Details are TBA based on confirmation.
The Bounders and Hijos de Sancho will perform
on Friday night at Dirty Moe’s.
We need to sell 800 tickets to break even on
the festival. Our goal is 1500 tickets.
A festival ticket does not need to be purchased
this year for casino performances. Roger will
be paying the bands for casino performances.
50/50 winner: Lance McLeod….Congratulations!!!!!!!!!
It’s
officially crunch time! The festival is quickly
approaching. Be prepared to help when needed…we
love you all!!!
