MEMBER MEETING HELD ON 12/3/02
Meeting held at Thai Room

**We
are so happy with the turnout for this meeting.
Thanks to all the members that attended and
participated. Also, thank you to the Thai Room
for opening their doors to us!
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by
Meggan Frazee
Elections were announced. Eligible voting members
were directed to vote before the conclusion
of the meeting.
The
following Officers Reports were made:
President:
Greg Serensits
The JamBand Society of America does not currently
have any chapters, but new cities keep surfacing
expressing interest. The latest city is Austin,
Texas.
Vice-President:
Rudy Jalio
If LVJBS develops a working relationship with
The Station Casinos, all officers will be subject
to a background check. The relationship is currently
in discussion and could be a reality soon.
Secretary:
Meggan Frazee
An announcement was made for those uninformed
that all the meeting minutes are posted on-line.
The minutes from the preceding month are available
to read before each current meeting.
Treasurer:
Joe Spainer
Revenue from The Alander Brother’s, Zuvuya,
Tea Leaf Green and Global Funk Council shows
were reported to members.
A conflict was reported. The Alander Brother’s
were paid for the show, when it had been arranged
prior that they would not be paid. Officer’s
apologized publicly for making the payment outside
of the original agreement. In the future, contracts
will be negotiated and signed so to avoid such
misunderstandings.
The
following committee reports were made:
Production
Committee: George Lyons
The Cubensis show is a no go.
Danny’s 2 is 90% free for a show on December
14th. The LVJBS Family Christmas party/show
will take place on this date.
The Robert Walter’s 20th Congress show
will take place on January 23rd, 2003 at The
Blue Note.
The Om Trio will play The Blue Note the weekend
following Robert Walter’s. A motion was
made and passed for LVJBS to back the show.
An offer is in to Dark Star Orchestra to play
the big room at The Blue Note for the February
LVJBS show. It looks promising that they will
accept the offer.
George will be blocking out 100 tickets for
the February moe. shows. Tickets will be made
available on a first come first serve basis
for members only.

The marketing committee needs volunteers. If

The newsletter is in the process of expanding.
It is going to have a new look.
Newsletter’s need to go to everyone!!
The shipping cost of newsletters will go up
due to larger letter and more being mailed out.
Get everyone you know on the mailing list.

By-Laws
Committee: Greg Serensits
The by-laws will be amended for the 2003-2004
nominations and voting processes. Currently,
only charter members, officers, committee chairs
and board members can vote. This will most likely
change so that all members can vote. Also currently,
all members can nominate officers. This will
most likely change so that only current officers,
charter members, committee heads and board members
can nominate potential officers.
The
Area 51 SoundTest was not discussed at length.
It will be discussed at length in January.
There
it is darlins’….same time, same
place, on the first Tuesday in January, 2003.
